Just imagine it, if you are a single mother and would like to take your kids to visit their father in prison. Do you have a car, but perhaps it might not be reliable? Imagine starting the trip and your car breaks down. Its very hot or perhaps raining and you have your kids with you.
Of course your in the middle of no where. On top of that you don't know anyone in the area.
Omg, you have your kids with you, so therefore on your mind is you and your kids safety.
If you call a taxi perhaps to take you and your kids to a hotel, then of course that's another expense you may have not budget for. Some small towns don't even have a taxi cab or a public transportation system. In the meantime when all this started to happen, you never made it to the prison location or this happens after you leave the facility.
I wouldn't wish this to happen to anyone. Yes of course I am speaking of experience. Not only did our car break down but there was no plan B in the back of my mind. I had a flat tire, it was dark and I didn't even know how to change it. I was scared and it was starting to get dark. Car just kept passing me by and no one seemed to even care. Finally, I had roadside service, but that was just to take my car to a repair shop. Which of course wasn't even opened during this time.
Finally after time passed the highway patrol passed by and luckily helped with us. I never desire to be in that situation again. Of course I could have started waving cars down, but we are living in the times where that's not always safe. I've heard stories where people take advantage of your situation.
